Bill Marsilii
is an American writer, producer, and director who broke records with his screenplay for the time-travel thriller movie Déjà vu starring Denzel Washington and Paula Patton. Touchstone Pictures purchased the screenplay for $5 million, making it the highest priced spec screenplay of all time. Other notable works currently in production include 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Captain Nemo and the space adventure, thriller Lightspeed both in production under Walt Disney Pictures. He also co-produced the drama, sports movie Woodlawn in 2015, telling the story of a gifted football player battling racial tension on and off the field. Marsilii adapted the sci-fi comic Sebastian X for producer Gale Ann Hurd of Terminator series fame and director Martin Campbell, known for his direction of the James Bond movies. Most recently, Lionsgate acquired Marsilii’s supernatural thriller Cold, produced by Reese Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea. Marsilii has also been a guest lecturer and professional mentor to a wide variety of film and screenwriting programs across the United States, including USC, UCLA, Pepperdine University, and Barry University in Miami.
